The Rebuilding together service project will be held on April 30th. Twenty of St. Richard’s members will team-up with members of the Presbyterian Church and students from the Christian Academy to work on our assigned house. Twenty of us will be preparing and painting a house and garage and cleaning up the yard in preparation for weed abatement inspections coming in early summer. All recipients are chosen on the basis of need.
In April, Sue Walker and Joyce Garrison were invited to talk at the Sunrise Rotary Club meeting about the homeless people on the mountain and St. Richard’s work in this area. They were well received and will continue to speak whenever asked in order to raise community awareness about the needs of the homeless on the mountain.
The Outreach Committee is in the planning stages for the upcoming Community Health Fair. The fair is to be held on Saturday May 23 from 10 am to 3 pm. We are planning to have games and prizes for children and an information booth about the church and its activities for adults. Please join us to work our booths and take advantage of the health information available while you are there. We always have a loads of fun together while we reach out to the community. The Sign-up sheet is in the Parish hall.
